This hand-forged hunting knife is made of Damask steel with a sturdy wooden handle. This knife's damask is made by forging and welding multiple layers of steel into a solid block called a billet. The billet is folded and welded multiple times to create multiple layers. These patterns are created by manipulating steel during the forge welding process. When the acid is added to the blade, it attacks the layers of hard and soft steel differently, imparting intriguing patterns to the layers of steel. The combination of hard and soft layers of steel creates the flexibility and tenacity of the blade and creates an invisible lag on the blade for an easier cut. The Rockwell hardness of Damascus steel is 59-62 HRC. The knife comes with a sheath and belt loop at one end. This knife is a must have for any field hunter or amateur!
